Well snow arrived big time this week...and there was much excitement at April Lodge. Life proved harder but the larder was well stocked and the heating worked so we had no complaints.
The children had days off school...mine didn't close, I think it was the only one in Dorset that actually opened! By Friday we thought the worst was over but at 10.30 am it started again and by midday schools were all closing. I made a mercy dash to Corfe Mullen as 7 children from the village (including mine) were stranded..we all squeezed into the car and made a slow but safe journey home.
Today we decided to have some fun. I heard on the grapevine that there was much snow up at Compton Abbas. We drove with some friends and cars full of sledges...we were not convinced as there was no snow to be seen in Blandford, but three miles along the road....there it was! I can say it was breathtaking, I have never seen so much snow in the UK. We had a few hours of fun, coming back a little cold a little soggy but completely exhilarated. A wonderful day!
